L'Ara is an educational, fun and interactive music box that allows a child to compose their own melody in just a few minutes, without any prior musical knowledge or skills.

Simply place the notes on the cylinder, turn the crank and their creation immediately comes to life. They can then modify their composition at will and rework it until it's exactly to their liking!

Designed by and for teachers

An inclusive and adaptive experience

L'Ara adapts to the pace of each student. While more advanced students explore complex structures, students with special needs or an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) benefit from a tactile, visual, iterative, and reassuring tool.

Easy to assess and curriculum-aligned

The Ara directly addresses the skills outlined in various educational programs: it facilitates the creation of musical pieces and develops the sense of appreciation during in-class listening sessions.

No noise in class

Thanks to the speaker set at 78 dB and the integrated headphone jack, students work in a calm environment and maximize their concentration. For sharing or evaluation time, simply connect the Ara to a speaker to showcase the creation to the group.

A turnkey solution to integrate Ara from day one

The Ara comes with a guide of 14 educational activities, developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Music Education at Université Laval. Designed for the school environment, these activities guide teachers step-by-step to stimulate invention and rhythmic learning. In addition, a set of specially adapted scores is included to allow students to perform well-known melodies or to serve as a canvas for their own creations.
