Whether we are talking about inventing, creating, or composing, elementary music curricula place creation at the center, alongside interpretation and appreciation.
With the Ara, students compose their own piece, share it with the group, then listen to and comment on those of their classmates. They explore techniques such as repetition, ostinato, or call-and-response.
And since every creation remains fixed on the cylinder, the teacher can listen to it again and evaluate it at their leisure.

COMPOSING BECOMES CHILD'S PLAY, LITERALLY.

The Ara allows a child to compose their own melody in a few minutes, without knowing how to read music or play an instrument. They place the notes on the cylinder, turn the crank, and immediately hear the result.

FOUR SOUNDS TO EXPLORE

Three new sounds are added to the original kalimba: strings, wind, and percussion. On a single composition, change the sound or have several Aras with different timbres work together to create true ensemble arrangements.

AT YOUR OWN PACE

With the Ara, there is no right or wrong way to start. The student places a few pins, turns the crank, listens, then adjusts: it is a process of trial and adjustment, where each attempt brings the student closer to the melody they imagine. Whether working alone or in a small group, they progress at their own pace: those who need time can explore quietly, while those who move faster can push their composition further. In this way, every student experiences success, regardless of their level or musical background.

AUDIO OUTPUT

Thanks to its built-in speaker and audio output, the Ara adapts to any situation: share creations with the whole class via speakers, or enjoy a solo creation session with headphones.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY

With up to 6 hours of continuous play, the Ara lasts through a full school day without needing a recharge. Wireless and lightweight, it moves easily from one corner of the classroom to another for team projects. And if the battery runs low, just plug it in: it keeps playing while it charges. At night, a multi-port USB charger allows you to charge several Aras at once so they are ready for the next day.
